In Memoriam 2020
Amid this global pandemic (COVID-19), the film industry has lost many of its legendary artists worldwide. One such talented and renowned director Nishikant Kamat, after battling with chronic liver disease passed away at 50 years of age in Hyderabad’s AIG Hospital, 17th August’ 20. As an actor, Nishikant has also appeared in Marathi film Saatchya Aat Gharat and played a role in his 2016 directorial film Rocky Handsome. He has directed good Bollywood movies like Drishyam and Madaari, which remarked on the industry.
WFF Oscar’s In Memoriam honors Rahat Indori- Indian Bollywood lyricist and Urdu Poet Honoring in memoriam to the famous Urdu poet and lyricist is a great privilege to us. His sudden demise on August 11th’ 2020 due to Covid-19 has left many of his admirers and the film industry in deep shock. At a very early age, while teaching the Urdu literature, Rahat Indori started receiving invitations from everywhere around the world, and became busy with ‘Mushairas’. With more than 50 years of experience in poetry, he has also achieved milestones as a lyricist for Bollywood songs like “Koi Jaye toh le aye” from Ghatak (1996), “Neend Churai Meri” from Ishq (1997), and “M Bole toh” from Munnabhai MBBS (2003).

The loss of one of the Iconic Actors-Chadwick Boseman due to colon cancer has been the most shocking news for the world. Bringing life to one of the most revered superheroes in the American Film Industry, Chadwick was the star of Marvel’s “BLACK PANTHER”. Being a Howard University Scholar thespian, he opted for an acting career with iconic characters like “42” movie as a baseball legend in 2013, “Get On UP” movie in 2014, and “Marshall” movie in 2017 as Thurgood Marshall. His movie “Black Panther” was the first superhero movie bringing in more than $1billion (one of the highest-grossing films), and nominated for the best picture Oscar.
